Woodwork
During term 1 I have been doing wood work. I have been doing amazing thing stuff. Mr Swain is my teacher. He's funny,he wears a white coat and he's very helpful. I made a puzzle box, a truck, a fish and more! I nailed 22,24 and 15mm nails with a hammer. It has been fun in Mr Swain's class.

Welcome to 2011
Well Seth has kicked off our year by placing our first post. He has written a great recount about the finally fishing trip! Thanks Seth and well done.
Room Four has started with a hiss and a roar with a lively bunch of students and a not quite so energetic teacher, but she is trying to keep up.
Welcome to our Blog for 2011, we hope you enjoy our snippets of life over the year.

The Finally! Fishing Trip
Our dreams of catching some massive fish had almost been shattered for another weekend.
My family and I were going on a fishing trip but the rain was fighting hard, luckily the rain stopped and we set out.
We were continuously changing spots because the dogfish were crowding us and the snapper weren't biting.
We came to a spot just outside the harbor and suddenly WHAM!! Thomas was fighting for his life, he had hooked a massive snapper. We almost dropped our rods and fainted, it was fighting like a shark. It was so big, we knew we had dinner tonight.
Suddenly the boat started shaking, the whole family had hooked some huge snapper at once, it was snapper heaven.
Although we already had heaps of snapper we were disappointed because Dad's rod went the tightest of all today and he hooked the biggest snapper of all time. It would have snapped the line if it didn't fall off, it would have been 40cm long but sadly it didn't surface.
In the end we caught twelve snapper and one butter fish (and heaps of dogfish). It was me that caught the most fish I caught four massive snapper with my trusty rod the long caster.
It was the best fishing trip ever, next year I hope we do it again.

Term One is nearly over and we are heading into the holidays. I never know where all the days go so quickly.
I hope your child has spoken to you about the play that a group of year 11 students from Nayland College put on for us yesterday. The play from a story written by one of the students involved in the play and adapted by some others involved. It had a very strong and powerful anti-bullying message. It was great to see how captivated Room Four was by the performance. I am sure there were two reasons for this. One being the energy the actors put into their performances and two how relevant the message was. It was well worth seeing.
Congratulations to Bronte who represented Broadgreen, with other members from around the school, in the local Lit Quiz competition. They did very well to come fourth.
Congratulations to Sam, Will and Jackson who were involved in the Milo Cricket Cup series. They put in a great effort and held their own.
Congratulations to Tayla, Hannah and Toby for gaining leads in the school production.
Tomorrow we wrap up our One Nation Many Cultures Unit with a trip down to the creek to float our waka. I am looking forward to seeing what the students have come up with.
Thank you all for your support over the term and here’s to looking forward to a great term two.

Swimming sports
On Monday the 1st of March 2010 every student walked over to Nayland pool to race in three different categories, breaststroke, freestyle and backstroke. As the first race started it was still ice cold, all of a sudden we heard a whistle the races had started. The ice was broken and as the day wore on the heat of the day dawned on us spectators. Every swim was a chance to refresh in the nice chilly water.
IN the end Isel won. Oh well we win in good looks.
It was a great experience
